Who is Aqara?

The name "Aqara" combines the Latin words “acutulus” (smart) and “ara” (home), reflecting our mission to make smart home technology accessible, elegant, and simple to use. Aqara offers a wide range of products, including sensors, switches, curtain controllers, and locks, with over 2 million users globally. Founded in 2009 by Lumi United Technology, one of China’s largest smart home providers, Aqara has expanded worldwide since entering the U.S. in 2019. With offices in New York and Shenzhen, Aqara is dedicated to bringing personalised, innovative solutions to homes around the world.

Pronunciation

Aqara (Ah-KAR-uh). Emphasis is usually on the second syllable, with a soft "a" sound at the beginning, followed by "kar" as in "car," and ending with another soft "a."
